My journey began when I started working for the Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball Club. I was well into my junior year at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi "Go Ders!" when a good friend of mine mentioned an internship opening up with a minor league team. So I jumped on it and I had no idea what I was in for. I grew up playing baseball in the small town of Helotes, Texas. A town so small that boys I played with in t-ball I still played with in high school. I feel like I'm getting off subject here so lets get back on track. So after that first season I knew minor league baseball was right up my alley. Well here I am, three years and another club later I'm still loving what I do. But what makes this year so special is the team and the staff I work with. Lets just say this staff is unlike any group I have been with before, but I feel like that for a later blog because I will more than likely talk about everyone later (in a good way though).
Anyways, we are now four weeks into the season and just ended our first 8 game home stand as we are now 5 games ahead in the Texas League. Yes, for those of you not aware, we are in first place. And our boys are just raking right now. If you ever get confused with my lingo, please feel free to ask. Believe me there is a story for it and I'm not some crazy uneducated red neck from Texas. Sorry my first blog was a novel, I'm just trying to give everyone who's reading this an understanding of where I'm coming from. One more thing before I go, you probably asked "whats the deal with the title?" Well, this past Tuesday we had our first afternoon game at 11:05 a.m. This means we had to be in the office at "8:30ishh?" Of course being young adults we don't go to bed until early in the morning, especially when we don't leave the office till midnight. The next morning when we are all in the office looking like
Until next time,
Kent
